Sunset Boat Trip in Rio de Janeiro

The sunset trip in Urca is not a separate product. It is the same standard 5-hour trip, with the departure time adjusted so the trip ends as the sun drops behind Sugarloaf Mountain.

How it works

The departure is worked out backwards: if sunset is at 18:00, the 5-hour trip starts around 13:00, ending with the boat anchored near Praia Vermelha during the sunset window. The exact departure time shifts through the year, since the sun sets earlier in winter.

Why this timing works well

• Light for photos. The window around sunset, known as golden hour, gives the most photogenic light of the day.
• Cooler temperature. The last hours of the afternoon are milder than the middle of the day, especially in summer.
• An exclusive setting. Since the boat is private, the moment belongs only to your group, with no other vessel sharing the view nearby.

The rate is the same as the standard trip, per vessel:

• Up to 8 people: R$ 1,800 on the 29 ft Speedboat
• Up to 10 people: R$ 2,500 on the 30.5 ft Speedboat
• Up to 25 people: R$ 6,500 on the Ibiza 45
