Boat Party in Rio de Janeiro: How to Organise One and What It Costs

A boat party swaps the venue for the sea, with music, people and a view, but no neighbour complaining about noise and no set time to end. Same logic as any party, just inside a space that moves.

The rate is for the whole vessel, for the standard 5-hour trip:

• Up to 10 guests: R$ 2,500 on the 30.5 ft Speedboat

What you organise

• Drinks. Plan around 4 to 5 drinks per person for a five-hour party. No corkage, so buying your own comes out cheaper than a catered bar.
• Food. Snacks work better than a full meal with the boat rocking. Chips, fruit and sandwiches hold up better in the heat than anything with mayonnaise.
• Music. Bluetooth sound is already aboard. For a DJ with their own gear, agree the available space beforehand.
• Decoration. Balloons and banners work well. Glitter and confetti do not come aboard, since they stick to the deck.

How to work out the right vessel size

Capacity is the legal limit, not the comfortable number for dancing and moving around. Take 15% to 20% off the maximum capacity to land on the number that works for a five-hour party with room to spare.

How to book

A 50% deposit confirms the booking, and operations run 09:00 to 19:00, every day. Year-end and long-weekend dates fill up months ahead, so it is worth booking early if the date is fixed.
