A corporate event on a boat solves two problems at once: it gets the team out of the office and it caps the time. Nobody leaves a boat early. Five hours on the water are five hours with the whole group together, which rarely happens in a hotel function room.
This covers what procurement usually asks about: rates by group size, what the company gets on paper, and how the day actually runs.
Cost by group size
The price is per vessel, for the standard 5-hour trip, fuel and skipper included. These are the six vessels that handle company events:
- Ibiza 45, up to 25 guests: R$ 6,500
- Barco Gourmet 53, up to 40 guests: R$ 8,750
- Senna 50, up to 32 guests: R$ 10,625
- Tecnomarine 50, up to 35 guests: R$ 11,875
- Malik, up to 50 guests: R$ 16,875
- Oceano Catamaran, up to 65 guests: R$ 17,500
Notice that the Barco Gourmet 53 carries 40 people for less than the Senna 50 carries 32. Judged on cost per guest, it is the most efficient in the fleet at R$ 219 a head at full capacity. A group of 30 pays R$ 340 per guest on the Tecnomarine and R$ 219 on the Barco Gourmet, with room to spare.
What the company gets
- An electronic invoice issued to the company tax number. In Brazil this document is called a nota fiscal, and it is what finance needs to book the expense.
- A formal contract with the terms of the event in writing.
- A quote back within 2 business hours.
It is worth confirming these points with any supplier before booking. An operator who cannot issue an invoice will jam your procurement process after the event has already happened, and at that point there is no fixing it.
Formats that work aboard
Year-end party
The most frequent request and the first to leave the calendar. December fills months ahead, so a large group needs to book around September.
Team building
A boat favours small-group conversation, because people spread out across the bow, stern and sun deck. It works better without a formal exercise. The setting does the work.
Product launch and client hosting
Smaller group, higher-spec vessel. The Prestige 60 takes up to 12 people at R$ 18,750, a yacht rate, which does not follow the cost-per-guest logic of the others.
Food and drink
There is catering aboard, with barbecue and open bar, quoted separately according to guest count. The alternative is for the company to bring its own catering, since there is no corkage and no minimum spend. Coolers with ice are included either way.
How the day runs
Departure from Marina da Glória, in Glória, with a metro station at the door and parking on site. Worth telling the team both, since some will drive and some will not.
The standard route covers Urca and Guanabara Bay, with a swim stop at Praia Vermelha. Copacabana and the Cagarras Islands are arranged separately. Operations run 09:00 to 19:00, every day.
When to book
A 50% deposit closes the booking, and the deposit is what holds the date. For company events this is usually the bottleneck, because payment goes through finance and takes longer than the date takes to be claimed by another group.
