What moves the price

Three things change the number, and the day of the week is not one of them:

• Vessel size. The dominant factor. Smallest to largest in the fleet is a tenfold difference.
• Duration. The standard is 5 hours. Extra hours are agreed separately, when the boat schedule that day allows.
• Route. Urca and Guanabara Bay are included. Copacabana, the Cagarras Islands, Niterói and Itaipu are agreed separately because they burn more fuel and more sailing time.

What is included

How to pay less per person

• Compare at the right capacity. A group of 50 pays R$ 338 a head on the 50-person Schooner and R$ 500 on the 70 ft Catamaran, which takes the same number of people.
• Bring your own food. Drinks bought at the supermarket instead of catered change the total more than any discount on the day rate.

How payment is split

Half on booking, half on the day of the trip. The 50% deposit is what locks the date in the calendar, and it is the part that catches people who leave the decision to the eve of a holiday weekend.
