What you can do on the 31st

The same standard 5-hour trip, within normal operating hours. It works well as an afternoon plan: the group together on the water, sun, music, before heading to dinner or to Copacabana for the countdown at night. It is not the midnight trip, it is the warm-up for the day.

Why to book ahead

New Year's Eve is one of the dates that fills the calendar fastest each year, alongside all of December and long weekends. Unlike the rest of the calendar, availability here runs out months ahead, not weeks. Anyone who wants December 31st locked in usually books in October or earlier.

Price and policy, no surprises

There is no special New Year's Eve rate. The price is the same as the rest of the year, per vessel, with the full table in how much a boat rental in Rio costs. The 50% deposit locks in the date the same way it does any other day of the year. Light rain does not cancel it; only heavy rain or unsafe sea conditions do, in which case the date is rescheduled.

If the plan is to see the Copacabana fireworks

The standard route covers Urca and Guanabara Bay. Copacabana, where the fireworks show is visible at night, is arranged separately, and still within the 19:00 operating window, not at midnight. For anyone wanting to be on the water during the fireworks, this is not the right operator: look for companies that specifically run overnight countdown departures.

How to book

Confirm the date over WhatsApp as early as possible. Months ahead, there is still a choice of time slot and vessel; leaving it to November or December, the list of options will already be short.
